Hiil hooyo is a joint project coordinated and executed by the Finnish Somalia Network (FSN) with its partners addressing the maternal healthcare in the project regions. The key development problem that the project aims to resolve is high maternal mortality having multiple negative effects to the local people’s lives and to the development in general. The maternal mortality rate in the project areas is one of the highest in the world, and a pregnancy is a real risk in a woman’s life. The project seeks to enhance women’s rights to maternal healthcare by increasing the prevention and timely management of complications during and after pregnancy and childbirth with different measures.
HOPE ORG is supporting implementation of HIIL HOOYO project in Somaliland with the support of Amoud University and Ministry of health development Somaliland.
